He died on 22 October 2006 at the age of 79 in Catawba Valley Medical Center, Hickory, Catawba County, North Carolina. He was buried in Corinth Reformed United Church of Christ Memorial Garden, Hickory, North Carolina. His obituary appeared as follows: HICKORY - Thomas Lewis Bost, 79, of Hickory, died Oct. 22, 2006, at Catawba Valley Medical Center. Born July 31, 1927, in Catawba County, he was a son of the late Daniel C. and Mamie Lee Bolick Bost. A member of Corinth Reformed Church, he was employed as manager of A & P Stores, a member of American Legion Post 48 and a U.S. Navy veteran. Mr. Bost loved to play golf, loved bowling and loved very much to spend time with his grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Bost was preceded in death by two sisters, Jennie Sallie and Peggy Whisnant. Survivors include his wife, Dora Greene Bost of Hickory; two daughters and a son-in-law, Cheri B. and Vernon Shelton of Conover and Lisa B. Collins of Taylorsville; two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Beth Bost of Concord and David and Vicki Bost of Taylorsville; a brother, William Bost of Newton; six grandchildren, Amanda Shelton, Hunter Bost, Tommy Collins, Erin Collins, Carla Bost and Kristy Bost; and three great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be conducted by the Revs. Dr. Robert M. Thompson and Bill Howell at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Corinth Reformed Church. Inurnment will be in the Church Memorial Garden. The family will be in the Althouse of the church one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Corinth Reformed Church, 150 Sixteenth Ave., NW, Hickory, N.C. 28601.
