2573. George Sidney SETZER was born on 16 June 1916 in Catawba County, North Carolina.1224 He died on 11 October 2002 at the age of 86 in Abernethy Laurels, Newton, North Carolina. He was buried in Bethel Lutheran Church Cemetery, Catfish community, Catawba County, North Carolina. His obituary appeared as follows: George Sidney Setzer, 86, of 5709 Bolick Road, Claremont, NC died October 11 at the Abernethy Center. Born June 6, 1916 in Catawba County, he was the son of the late Marshall Lee Setzer and Fannie Deal Setzer. He had retired as a supervisor from Broyhill Industries where he had worked for 40 years. He was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church where he had served on the cemetery committee and was a member of the Lutheran Laymen's League. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Allen Setzer. Setzer of Claremont 6 Grandchildren and 6 Great Grandchildren Funeral services will be conducted at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 13, 2002 at Bethel Lutheran Church in Claremont. Rev. Ed Meyer will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Bethel Lutheran Church. Willie Catherine LITTLE, daughter of John Spencer Franklin LITTLE and Cordia Edna HUFFMAN, was born on 20 August 1916 in Catawba County, North Carolina.1224 She died on 3 January 2011 at the age of 94 in Conover Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Conover, NC. She was buried in Claremont City Cemetery, Claremont, NC (St. Marks & Calvary Luth.). Her obituary appeared as follows: CLAREMONT — Willie Katherine Little Setzer, 94, of Claremont, passed away Monday, Jan. 3, 2011, at Conover Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Conover. She was born Aug. 20, 1916, in Catawba County to the late John Franklin Little and Edna Huffman Little. Mrs. Setzer was a faithful member of Bethel Lutheran Church, and retired in 1978 after 40 years of service from Southern Furniture. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, George Sidney Setzer; grandson, Jesse Setzer; brothers, George H. Little and Lawrence Little; and sisters, Nellie Hollar and Frankie Pope. Mrs. Setzer is survived by son, Sidney Lee Setzer of Catawba; son and daughter-in-law, George Franklin and Sandy Setzer of Claremont; daughter and son-in-law, Katherine and Henry W. Seitz Jr. of Claremont; grandsons, Tracy and wife, Tanna Setzer, Ritchie and wife, Dawn Setzer, Keith Setzer, Brian and wife, Taryn Setzer, all of Claremont, and Patrick Seitz of Hickory; great-grandsons, Christopher, Marcus, Seth, Dillon and Braxon, all of Claremont, and Trevor Setzer of Bethlehem; great-granddaughter, Fallon Setzer of Claremont; brother, Jimmie Little of Claremont; sisters, Fannie Wike and Jean Parkhurst, both of Conover, and Eva Mae Hoke of Claremont; brothers-in-law, John M. Setzer of Conover, James W. Pope and Thomas Hoke, both of Claremont; and numerous nieces and nephews. A service of remembrance will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 6, 2011, at Bethel Lutheran Church in Claremont, with the Rev. Craig Schultz and the Rev. Eric Hollar officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mrs. Setzer’s grandsons and great-grandsons. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
