Eunice BURCHAM, daughter of Arthur Lewis BURCHAM and Semora LOVE, was born on 30 September 1915 in Catawba County, North Carolina. She died on 8 July 2005 at the age of 89 in Frye Regional Medical Center, Hickory, Catawba County, NC. She was buried in Eastview Cemetery, Newton, Catawba County, North Carolina. Her obituary appeared as follows: NEWTON - Eunice Burcham Austin, 89, of Twenty-first Street, NE, Hickory, formerly of N.C. 10, Newton, died Friday, July 8, 2005, at Frye Regional Medical Center. Born Sept. 30, 1915, in Catawba County, she was the daughter of the late Arthur Lewis and Semora Love Burcham. She worked for Conover Chair and was a member of Beth Eden Lutheran Church in Newton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Alexander Austin. Survivors include three sisters, Elizabeth Hubbard and Josephine Davis of Newton and Ruby B. Clark of Conover; and a number of nieces and nephews. A Service of Remembrance will be held at 5 p.m. Sunday, July 10, 2005, at Beth Eden Lutheran Church. The Revs. Jane Mitcham and Stanley Stiver will officiate. Burial will follow in Eastview Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 tonight, Saturday, at Willis-Reynolds Funeral Home.
