6165	ii.	Oneda Faye MCGUIRE was born on 27 November 1929 in Catawba County, North Carolina. She died on 2 December 2009 at the age of 80 in Lutheran Home West, Hickory, North Carolina. Her obituary appeared as follows: HICKORY - Oneda Faye McGuire Ferber, 80, passed away Dec. 2, 2009, at Lutheran Home-West. Oneda was born Nov. 27, 1929, in Catawba County to the late Kelly Marshall and Effie Rosetta Berry McGuire. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Richard Ferber, and a son, Thomas Eugene Ferber. She was a member of Highland Baptist Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher. She retired from Ellis Hosiery Mill. Surviving are sons, Richard Ferber and wife, Pat, of Jonesboro, Ga., Steven Lynn Ferber and wife, Joan, of Hillsboro, Ill., and Robert Marshall Ferber and fiancee, Michele Shave, of Conover; and daughters, Karen Herring and husband, Clyde, of Abilene, Texas, and Toni Jones and husband, Keith, of Hickory. She also was blessed with 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. The funeral service will be held Saturday, Dec. 5, 2009, at 3 p.m. at Highland Baptist Church, with the Rev. Jesse Lott and Kenny Robison officiating. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the service. The family will receive friends after the service in the chapel at Highland Baptist Church. Memorials may be made to Highland Baptist Church, Building Fund, 828 Ninth Ave., NE, Hickory, N.C. 28601.
