3247. James Cline BOST was born on 15 October 1920 in Catawba County, North Carolina. He died on 19 August 2004 at the age of 83 in Newton, Catawba County, North Carolina. He was buried in Catawba Memorial Park, Hickory, Catawba County, NC. His obituary appeared as follows: NEWTON - Mr. James Cline Bost, 83, of Startown Road, Newton, died Thursday, Aug. 19, 2004, at his residence. Born Oct. 15, 1920, in Catawba County, he was the son of the late James W. Bost and Essie Cline Bost. James worked for United Electric Meter Service from 1962 until his retirement in 1990. Since then, he spent his life raising a garden, raising over 300 purple martins and taking care of his family. He was a member of St. Pauls Reformed Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five sisters, Stella Bost Stackley, Mary Knox Wike, Rosalie Bost Ashe, Hermine Bost Bright and Sarah Bost Ward. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Roberta Mae Bost of the home; a son, Rodney James Bost of Mooresville; a daughter and son-in-law, Bobbi Bost Duncan and husband, Gary D. Duncan, of Startown; a granddaughter, Bobbi K. Duncan of Startown; and two sisters, Essie Maude Bost Foster and Alta Bost Danner of Startown. A Service of Remembrance will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 22, 2004, at St. Pauls Reformed Church. The Rev. Dr. Stephen R. Disher will officiate and entombment will be in Catawba Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the fellowship hall of St. Pauls Reformed Church. James Cline BOST and Roberta Mae BOSTIAN were married estimated 1941. Roberta Mae BOSTIAN, daughter of Robert William BOSTIAN and Essie Mae BOWMAN, was born on 24 May 1921 in Catawba County, North Carolina. She died on 7 March 2012 at the age of 90 in Catawba Valley Medical Center, Hickory, Catawba County, North Carolina. Her obituary appeared as follows: NEWTON Roberta Bostain Bost, 90, of Newton died Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at Catawba Valley Medical Center. Born May 24, 1921 in Catawba County, she was the daughter of the late Robert William and Essie Mae Bowman Bostain. She was a member of Tri-City Baptist church in Conover, and was a self-employed seamstress. Roberta loved her flowers and flower gardens. In addition to her parents, Roberta was preceded in death by her husband, James Cline Bost; sister, Rena Hollar; and brothers, Rodney Bostain and Robert "RJ" Bostain. She is survived by her son, Rodney Bost of Newton; daughter, Bobbi Duncan and her husband, Gary, of Lockhart, Texas; granddaughter, Katie Duncan; and sister, Becky Punch of Newton. A memorial service will be held Sunday, March 11, at 2:30 p.m., at St. Paul's Reformed Church in Newton with the Rev. John Bigelow officiating. Private burial will be held at Catawba Memorial Park.
