Lloyd Michael BOLLINGER and Frances BOWMAN were married estimated 1940. Frances BOWMAN, daughter of Clarence Arthur BOWMAN and Minnie Pearl BOLICK, was born on 18 July 1921 in Hickory, Catawba County, North Carolina. She died on 7 October 2004 at the age of 83 in Abernethy Laurels, Newton, North Carolina. She was buried in New Jerusalem Lutheran Church Cemetery, Hickory, Catawba County, NC. Her obituary appeared as follows: HICKORY - Frances Bowman Bollinger, 83, of Newton, died Oct. 7, 2004, at Abernethy Laurels in Newton. Born July 18, 1921, in Hickory, she was a daughter of the late Clarence “C.A.” Bowman and Pearl Bolick Bowman Deaton. Mrs. Bollinger was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Michael Bollinger; a sister, Elsie Lorene Bollinger; and a brother, A.C. Bowman. She was employed by Belk and Northwestern Bank and was a lifelong member of New Jerusalem Lutheran Church, where she was very active in the church choir, WELCA, Alter Guild, Senior Friends and the Witness Ministry Committee and was a very faithful servant of God. Mrs. Bollinger was a volunteer at Catawba Valley Medical Center, where she made baby caps for newborns. She also was very active in Lutheran Brotherhood Branch 8139, where she was treasurer for a number of years. She loved to attend Lutheridge during senior citizens week. She was a very loving and caring mother, grandmother and friend. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, the Rev. Larry M. and Margaret Bollinger of Gastonia and Dennis E. and Sandra Bollinger of Newton; grandchildren, Angela Bollinger and Jason Kahan of Boca Raton, Fla., Lukas M. Bollinger of Finland, Minn., D. Shay Bollinger of Hudson and Amanda Kay Bollinger of Hickory; three sisters, Lois Bowman Moose and Dorothy Bowman Abernethy of Hickory and Martha Bowman Caudill of Goldsboro; and a sister-in-law, Ailene Bowman of Hickory. Funeral services will be held Monday at 5 p.m. at New Jerusalem Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Randall Cauble officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will be at the church two hours prior to the service.
