7. John WILSON (5)(5) (5) was born about 1766 and participated in the Revolutionary War, fighting in the battle of King's Mountain. He was granted 500 acres of land on both sides of the north fork of the Catawba River, 21 Nov 1786. His tax listing in 1819 (Capt. Daniel Hoke's District) was: land of 150 acres, value of $230.

He was married to Mary MERCER. John WILSON and Mary MERCER had the following children:
