State of North Carolina
Agreeable to an order of Court from the worshipful --? The County Court
of Chatham, to us William Fields, Gillam Upchurch and William Prince directed,
we have proceeded to examine the accounts of William Hatley, Guardian of
Joab Hatley and find that the said William Hatley has in his hand the sum
of thirty six pounds ten shillings & one farthing. Given under our
hands this 19th August 1875.
William Fields Esq.
Wm. Prince
Gilliam Upchurch.
There is more on pages 128 & 129 of this account but, no other names
are given, just amounts of money paid out with interest and in April of
1822 the last accounting is given, I think because there is nothing more
after this. I think Joab must have been born about 1800/1801.
