Robert Council Family

Robert Council born 1768-1774 married Rebecca Weathers and in 1800 established
their home in Chatham County. They raised their children and grandchildren
and many of those descendents still remain. Robert Council and Rebecca
had their first born son Kimbrol Wilford Council Dec 8, 1801 Kimbrol
married Ada Yates about 1826 in Chatham County.
Robert Council Deed of Land 1816, Purchased from Ruthie Riggins of Orange County North Carolina. This indenture made this seventeenth day of February in the year of our Lord, One Thousand Eight Hundred and Sixteen (1816) between Ruthie Riggins of the County of Orange and the State of North Carolina, of the first part and Robert Council of the County of Chatham and State aforesaid, of the second part, witnessed that said Ruthie Riggins for an in consideration of the sum of two hundred and thirty dollars to her in hand paid by the said Council. The receipt of which the said Ruthie Riggins doth hereby acknowledge hath granted, bargained and sold unto the said Robert Council, his heirs and aforsigns forever a certain piece or parcel of land being situate and lying in the County aforesaid containing by estimation, one hundred acres be the sum, more or less, and boundaries as follows; Beginning at a pine ________Widow Wheelers line through running North with Thomas line one hundred and fifty poles to a White Oak, Eli Yates cornor through East one hundred and fifty eight poles to a small dogwood through South to a small Maple in Henry Lewters line West with the said Wheelers and Lewters line one hundred and fifty eight poles to the first station. To have and to hold the said Ruthie Riggins land and __________ with appentatures and the said Ruthie Riggins for herself for her heirs execute and administer ans assign doth convent and grant unto the said Robert Council and his heirs and assigns forever that said land and premises above mentioned, warranting and ___________ title of the same against the lawful claims or incumbents of any person or persons what so ever. In Witness where of the said Ruthie Riggins doth hereunto set her hand and affix her seal, the day and date above written. Signed, sealed and delivered

KIMBRO COUNCIL DEED 1821 This indenture made this sixteenth day of December, in the year of our Lord, One Thousand Eight Hundred and Twenty-One. (1821) Between George Williams Jr of the County of Chatham and State of North Carolina of the one part and Kimbro Council of the County and State aforesaid, of the other part. Witnessed that the said George Williams for and in consideration of the sum of Three Hundred Dollars to me in hand give the said Kimbro Council doth bargin, sell and confirm unto the said Kimbro Council a certain tract or parcel of land situate, lying and being in the County of Chatham and boundries as follows: Beginning at a post ________ Dudley line through________ ______ line east to a dead pine _______ Kelly’s corner through said line North to the Indain Branch a sweet gum ? ______ ______ up the _______ of the said branch to a Sweet Gum in Dudley’s line through North said line. South to the first station containing by estimate seventy-five acres be the same more or less, which I the said George Williams doth fully attest myself of all rights and claims and doth for the above consideration and doth warrant and _____defend the said land and said premises unto the said Kimbro Council free from any claim or claims of any person or persons whatsoever.
