John III, Woody, B 1715 possibly Boston, Suffolk Co. MA., D 1762 Orange
Co., NC. thought to be buried at Spring MM Cemetery east of the town of
Snow Camp.
Father & Mother:
Believed to be buried at:
Mary Lindley was dau of James Lindley B 4-16-1681, in Ballinaclash,
Wicklow Co., Ireland; D 10-13-1726, London Grove twp, Chester Co., PA &
his wife Eleanor Parke, B 1-2-1684 in County Carlow Ireland.
Mary was a sister to Thomas Lindley B1706 D1781, founder of the
Lindley family in Orange County, NC.
(Possibly) John II Woody/
John III built ferry on the Haw River NC. which was used during the
American Revolution.
Note # 18. John (III) Woody bought 60 acres in Baltimore Co. MD. is 1739 and sold
it in 1754 and gave his occupation as "House Carpenter".
Two sons moved to Indiana. Two sons and the two daughters are thought to have stayed in lived in Orange and Chatham county with out ever moving as the counties where formed. My g grandfather Franklin H. Woody left Slier City about 1853-54, spent about 2 year in Indianapolis IN. Started for California, got sick in Utah, ended up an early pioneer, country clerk, lawyer and Judge in what is now Missoula, Montana. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Michael A Woody in Yucaipa CA.
