This indenture made this the ? day of January One Thousand
Eight Hundred and Thirty between Seth
Daniel of the County of Columbus and State of North Carolina on
the one part and Surveyor Daniel
Campbell
of the County and State aforesaid witnesseth that for and in
consideration of the sum of one hundred dollars to me in hand paid by
the said Daniel Campbell the
receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge and myself fully satisfied
contented and paid hath given, granted, bargained, sold, and convey and
confirmed and over unto the said Daniel
Campbell
one hundred acres of land in the aforesaid county on the west side of
Fryer Swamp; beginning at a white oak on the west side of said swamp
and runs south fifty west thirty one chains and sixty three links to a
pine, then south forty east thirty one chains and sixty three links to
a stake in the Green Swamp, then north fifty east thirty one chains and
sixty three links to a stake in Fryer Swamp, then east thirty west
thirty one chains and sixty three links thence to the beginning;
granted by his Excellency William Tryon to Abraham Freeman the twenty eighth
day of October 1765, and conveyed by Abraham
Freeman to Shadrick Daniel
the twenty seventh day of November 1794 and registered in the registers
office of Bladen County, and
conveyed by Shadrack
Daniel to John Daniel
the second day February 1805 registered in the
registers office of Bladen County in Book H page 792, and conveyed by John Daniel to Isham Daniel the sixth day of March
1819 registered in
the registers office Bladen County in book M page 51, and conveyed by Isam Daniel to Seth Daniel the fourth day of March
1826 registered in
the registers office of Columbus County in Book D page 358. Also
another
tract in the aforesaid county joining the above on the west side of
Fryer Swamp, beginning at a small pine and oak in Abraham Freeman's line
and runs north forty west twenty five chains to a pine, then north
fifty
east twenty chains to stake, then south forty east twenty five chains,
thence south fifty west along Freeman lines to the beginning; granted
to Roger Freeman the second
day of November 1784, and conveyed Roger
Freeman to Shadrick Daniel the
twenty seventh day of November 1794, and
conveyed from Shadrick Daniel
to John Daniel the second of
May 1805, and
conveyed from by John Daniel to
Isham Daniel the 6 day of
March 1819
registered in the registers office of Bladen County in book M page 51,
and Isham Daniel conveyed to Seth Daniel the ? day of March 1826
registered in the registers office of Columbus County in book D page
and page 358; to have and to hold the aforesaid tracts of unto the said
Daniel Campbell his heirs
and assigns for ever and I the said Seth
Daniel will warrant and for ever defend the above mentioned
premesis
against the lawful claim or claims of any person or persons whatsoever
unto the said Daniel Campbell
his heirs, executors, administrators, and
assigns for ever in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and
seal this the above written date signed sealed and delivered in the
