Newton-Conover High School (circa 1950s)
At one time, this High School served the entire Newton-Conover Community. This gave rise to the term "Twin Cities" which referred to the towns of Newton and Conover. The school later served as a Junior High School, and then a Middle School. To this day, it remains under the jurisdiction of the Newton-Conover Schools Administration. The building houses the Newton-Conover Health Science School on the second floor. The Newton-Conover Auditorium and NewArts School are only a small portion of one wing and, as mentioned, they rent their spaces from the school system. The building continues to house "The Green Room," a community performing arts center.
