I am looking for any info on my ggrandfather Wiley HARRIS and ggrandmother
Fannie HAYWOOD HARRIS. They were living in Cumberland County in 1881. Children
were Kenneth Elisha, my grandfather, brother "Buck" and sisters
Dora and Viola. The children were raised by other families, Kenneth by
a McNeill family. I would greatly appreciate any information .

I am looking for information on my g g Grandfather EDWARD KING BRANCH-
born in l8l2. He was in Cumberland county in the l850 census with his wife
- Tabitha- and children. His wife may have been a Johnson. They moved to
Tennessee in the early l860s due to the civil war. Left one son there.
They then moved to Arkansas.

Mary Ann SMITH (born 1828) married Richard B WATSON in 1850 in Cumberland
Co. She died in 1916 in Cumberland Co. The death certificate shows her
parents as Lewis SMITH (born in NC) and Mary SELL (born in NC). The 1850
census shows a Mary SMITH living with Richard and Mary Ann and being age
60. There is a Mary SMITH buried at Cross Creek Cemetery Number One next
to the above Richard WATSON. If the is Mary (SELL) SMITH the dates shown
are born 19 Jul 1789 and died 10 Dec 1868. This is all that I have on Lewis
SMITH and Mary SELL. Any information would be appreciated. They are my
direct ancestors.

I am looking for a lady, oral history, Ann MONROE, married John MONROE
might be a slave bought from slave house in Fayetteville. At time of her
death c. 1940 might have been 103yrs old. Later in her life lived in Moore
county. Daughter was, fact, Mary MONROE JACKSON. Thanks in advance

Researching the descendants of Angus McINNIS who immigrated from Scotland,
Isle of Jura, in 1819 and settled in Cumberland Co. Children who had issue
were : Isabella b.1809 married Alexander Johnson; Duncan b. 1811 married
Margaret McMillan; Archie b.1814 born Flora McColl; John b.1816 married
Ruth McMillan; Annie b. 1928 married Loyd Gillis; Neill b.1830 married
Margaret McDougald ; Macolm b. 1832 married Sarah Gillis; Daniel b.1834
married Ann McFadyn.

Seeking information on Sarah BAKER born 1826 in Cumberland Co. married
John Allan CAMERON on 3 May 1852 Bluff Presby Church on Cape Fear River.
She died Jacksonville FL 1901. Father was Dugald BAKER Born 1778 died after
1850, son of Archibald BAKER and Margaret___?__. She was probably daughter
of second wife, Sarah KELLY daughter of Angus KELLY and Sarah BAKER daughter
of Archibald BAKER who died 18ll. Were Dugald BAKER and Sarah KELLY first
cousins?

Looking for Mary McCALL who married John Edward DEAL in 1820's in N.C.
They had a son named John Edward DEAL born in 1828 in N.C. The 1850 census
has a Mary DEAL age 49, with son John Edward age 22. Looks as though this
is who I am searching for. But what happened to John Deal, Senior? John,
Jr. was in California by 1860 working as a gold miner. Anyone know anything
about this family?

Searching for anything about the DEAL family. John Edward DEALL was
born in 1828, the son of John Edward DEAL and Mary McCALL. All were born
in N.C. The 1850 census shows a Mary DEAL without her husband but with
son John Edward DEAL. She was born about 1801. They are in Fayetteville
Dist., Cumberland County at that time. Son John Edward was in California
by 1860 working in the gold mines. Anything look familiar to anyone?

Looking for any information on the DEVANE family members from Cumberland
County. The Devane's moved around the later 1800's to Cumberland County
from Bladen and Columbus County. John Young Devane and his wife Irene Melvin
Devane had several children. John moved his family to Cumberland Cty on
an agreement to tenant farm for a Fayetteville man, the man pulled out
of the deal. Any information would be helpful.

Seeking information on the location of the Daniel McPHAIL cemetery which,
in March of 1817 was described as being one half acre in Cumberland County
located near a branch of Locks Creek. The heirs of Daniel McPHAIL sold
125 acres of land to Thomas MURPHY on March 10, 1817. At that time the
McPHAIL family lived in Hawkins Co., Tennessee before moving to McMinn
County, Tennessee. Thanks for any assistance offered in locating this McPHAIL
family burial ground.

war, he was born 1748 and we believe he resided in the area of what was
known as Welsh Tract (These are the decendents of the Welsh tract that

12 Jan 1817 Cumberland Co & lived in Massey Hill section of Fayetteville,
Cumberland Co. Children: Robert J E, Catharine, Mary A, Thomas A J, William
Henry, Susan E, Frances, Ann Elliott, Katherine (#2), Elizabeth. Also looking
for parents of both Thomas & Mary. Thomas' father said to be John MASSEY,
