HOOTEN, Seburn born mid 1700s. The only information I have been able
to find on Seburn is actually on his brother Elijah. Elijah's application
for pension is dated April 1832 at the age of 81. He was born in Cumberland
Co., NC, and volunteered in 1779. He was under the command of General Caswell,
and joined General Gates on the Deep River at a place called Cox's Settlement.
Elijah was wounded at "Guilford" and taken home a cripple for
life. After the war, he moved to Virginia and later to Scottsville, KY,
and later to Warren Co., Tenn. and applied for a pension in white Co.,
TN. By posting info on Elijah, I'm hoping someone researching this family
will contact me. I believe Seburn's name might actually have been Robert.

I am seeking information on Edmund F. LILLY of Montgomery County, NC
who married Catherine SHAW in Cumberland County, NC 27 March, 1828. I think
they had at least two sons: Edmund J. LILLY and Henry LILLY. Edmund J.
LILLY and Henry LILLY both spent time in Sampson County, NC in the 1870s.
My interest in this family is because my ancestress, Susan HARRIS of Wayne
County, NC married a LILLY between 1833 and 1836. They had one daughter.
Her name was Catherine LILLY. She was born in 1837. Mr. LILLY apparently
died before 1840 or either he and Susan divorced. I would like to correspond
with anyone who is interested in the LILLY families which settled in the
Cumberland/Sampson/Wayne areas.

Jacob FRANKS and wife Flora bought land in Cumberland County North Carolina
in 1774 and 1777. Jacob was granted land in 1779 as a result of military
service. Also, Martin FRANK appears in 1756 in a court case as recorded

Cumberland County, Vol. 1, 1755-1779". Jacob later shows up in Wake
County North Carolina. Would like to correspond with anyone working on
