My gggrandfather was Neill BLACK b. 1813 in Cumbeland Co., NC, I believe.
I found a Neill Black on the 1830 census and next door are his sisters
(I recognized this because of their names) and his mother Mary, listed
as the HOH. This family also appears on the 1830 census in Monroe Co.,
AL, living next door to each other, with Mary listed as HOH and the sisters
are there also. The mother, Mary, had a baby in 1830, born in AL., so her
husband must have died in 1829. I believe he was also Neill BLACK. This
is what I would like to know for sure. I would also like to know where
he is buried. The 1820 census has a Neill BLACK living next door to a Daniel
BLACK, in Cpt Black's District - Dist 11. Is anyone research the Black's?
I believe Mary was Mary BUIE and I believe they were married 9/29/1807
in Cumberland Co.

Cumberland, NC (d.10 Feb 1947) living in Hope Mills. He is buried in Massey
Hill Cemetery, but there is no grave marker. He married Josephine CARTER

name was Mary J HALES. I do not know anything about Josephine except maybe

8 children. There names are Bessie Lain HALES (m. Frederick MAPLES), William
Marshall HALES, Kenneth Worthey HALES (my grandfather), Nancy Jane HALES
(m. David ARP), Joel Cummins HALES Jr. (possibly m. Lena M. SAULS), Daisy
HALES (died young), Josephine Annie HALES (died young), Martha Frances
