1765 - LAST WILL & TESTAMENT OF DUSHEE SHAW
In the name of God Amen. I, Dushee Shaw of Cumberland County in the province of
North Carolina being of Sound and perfect memory thanks be the the almighty God
for the same and considering the certainty of this mortal life do make my last
will and testament in the manner and form following hereby revoking and annulling
all former wills by me heretofore made.
First I leave and bequeath to my eldest son Neill a tract of land beginning at
the upper line of angush on a field and from there to the school house branch.
I leave and bequeath also unto him two Negro boys named Roben and Jeck and three
mares and their increase and two horses and the (one) third of my cattle.
I leave and bequeath unto my daughter Ann two Negro Girls named Tru and Hannah
and a mare and her increase and one half of the sheep and tow cows and their
increase and five pounds of money.
I leave and bequeath to my son Daniel and to my brother Duncan, --side of Stevens
Creek and the half ---.And I leave and bequeath to Daniel one Negro the named Joseph
and (one) third part of the -- and one mare and her increase and one half of that
money left after my just debts is (are) paid.
I leave and bequeath unto my son Dushee one tract of land beginning at Daniel's
lower line and from thence to the school house branch and also three horses and
plows and tackins and all others two and household goods. And I leave the use of
the said plantation and articles belonging to it to my son Neil till Dushee is of
age and the said --- is to return him the said plantation and articles in as good
as he received them.
I leave and bequeath also to Dushee one Negro boy named Stephen and one mare and
her increases and the third of the cattle and the half of the money after my just
debts is (are) paid.
I leave and bequeath to my son Daniel and to Dushee one Negro wench named Lyee.
I leave and bequeath to Daniel Shaw my nephew one mare and her increase and one
sheep and four cows and two - two year old horses (?).
I leave and bequeath to my mother two pounds hard money and half of the sheep.
And lastly I nominate and appoint Duncan Shaw, Neill Shaw and Archibald Buie Test.
the lawful Executors of this my Last Will and Testament, hereby revoking as
before all will or wills by me hereto fore made in writing whereof I have hereto
put my hand and seal this twentieth eight day of July in the year of our Lord one
thousand seven hundred and sixty four - 1764.

North Carolina Cumberland County Nov.Court 1765---Son was the Executor of this
Will in Court, in due form of Law proved by the oath of Daniel Clark, one of the
suscribing witnesses and ordered to be recorded. Recorded in the Mins. of said
Courts. Richard Grove HH
