Know all men by These presents that we W. T. Rhodes and John L Ryals William Avera Sr and
James A Johnson are held and firmly bound unto the State of North Carolina in the sum of four
thousand dollars Current money of said State to the payment whereof all bind ourselves our heirs
Executors and administrators Jointly and severally firmly by These presents signed with our hands
and sealed with our seals this 2nd day of October AD 1854.
The condition of this obligation is such that if the above bound W. T. Rhodes and John L. Ryals
administrators of all and singular the goods and Chattles Rights and Credits of Lovet Ryals Decd
to make or cause to be made a true and perfect inventory and account of sales of all and singular
the goods and Chattles rights and Credits of the said Decd which have or shall come to the hands
possession or knowledge of and the said W. T. Rhodes and John L. Ryals or into the hands or possession
of any other person or persons for them and the same to made to exhibit or cause to be exhibited into
the office of the court when order for administration papers within ninety days after the date of these
presents and the same goods Chattles and Credits of the said Decd at the time of his death or which at
any time after shall come to the hands or possession of the said W T Rhodes and John L. Ryals or into
the hands or possession of any other person or persons for them do well and truly administer according
to law and further do make or cause to be made a true and Just account of their said administration
within two years after the date of these presents and all the rest and residue of the said goods Chattles
and Credits which shall be found remaining upon the said administrators account the same being first
examined and allowed by the Court shall deliver and pay unto such person or persons respectively as the
same shall be due unto pursuant to the true intent and meaning of this Act and if it shall appear that
any last will and testament was made by the Decd and the Executor of Executors therein named do Exhibit
the same into Court making request to have it allowed and approved accordingly if the said W T Rhodes
and John L Ryals above bound being thereunto required to rendent[?] and deliver the said letters of
administration probate of such testament being first had and made in the said court then this obligation
is to be void and of no effect or Else to remain in full force and virtue.

Know all men by These presents that we W. T. Rhodes and John L Ryals Wm Avera Hiram Vickers Henry Avera
are held and firmly bound until toe state of North Carolina in the sum of fifteen thousand dollars current
money to be paid to the said state of North Carolina for the payment which [illegible] and truly to be made
and done we bind ourselves our heirs executors and administrators Jointly and Severally firmly by these
presents sealed with our seals and dated this 4th day of December AD 1854.
The condition of this obligation is such that if the above bounden W T Rhodes and John L Ryals administrators
of all and singular the goods and Chattles rights and Credits of Lovet Ryals Deceased do make or cause to be
made a true and perfect inventory and account of sales of all and singular the goods and and [sic] Chattles
rights and Credits of the said Deceased which have or shall come to the possession or knowledge of them or

This agreement Entered to this the Eight day of Nov one Thousand Eighteen Hundred & forty nine
by and Between N J Clements of the County of Johnston & State of North Carolina of the one part and
Lovet Ryals of the County of Cumberland and State of North Carolina of the other part witnesseth
that I the Said Lovet Ryals do Lease to the Said W J Clements, Ten Acres of Land Lying on The South
Side of Stuards[?[ Creek and on the sest Side of the River leading to Aversborough for the Term of
five years
The Said Lovet Ryals is to furnish the Said W J Clements all of the Timber that is necessary to
make Such improvements as he may think proper. I The Said W J Clemts is To Build a Stoor House The
House to be a Framed House. I the said Ryals is to furnish the Said W H Clemints the Lumber for the
Stoor House. The Said Lovel Ryals do warrant & defend The above obligation in the presence of these
witnesses.

John L Ryals, Richard M Canady, William Reaves, W B Whitton, Samuel Ellis, Thomas Fowler, Raiford Lecus,
Chal?/Cloe? Smith, Alfred Lucus, Allen Fowler, Fredrick Lucus, Jessy Busby, --- Parker, Anson Parker
Items included: hogs , pigs and shotes [shoats]; Timber Wagon; Wagon Wheels; clay bank horse; bulls, cows
with calves; steers; [possibly] cut timber.

of Lovet Ryals Decd on a credit of six months
A J Turlington, 1 spade; Henry Avera, 1 grub hoe; Riley Jackson, tongs & waffle [something]; Richard Ryals,
gun shot bag, 1 black mule; John L Ryals, 1 gun shot; Jackson Byrd, sow & 4 pigs; Gilliam Parker, sow & 4 pigs;
Fanny Wood, sow & 3 pigs; Wm Avera, 3 [illegible] Shuck; Alfred Moore, 1 fair bellows & anvil; Allen Fowler,
1 box & chickens[?], 1 waggon &c.; Gulford Lucas, 1 cross cut saw; W C Clements, 1 black mule; W S Stewart,
1 black mule; Asher Reives, sow & 5 pigs.
All else was bought by the widow, including, besides numerous household items and some livestock, 1 saw mill &
smith for 12 months; several Negroes hired for 12 months - Hector, Mary, Daniel, Alsey, Hagar, Leavy, Tom.
