Fayetteville, November 14, 1801
The Lodge of free Masons not having a sufficient sum of money in their funds to erect an additional building adjoining the Lodge, have passed an order for obtaining a loan for that purpose, for the reimbursement of which the faith of the Lodge is pledged. Wherefor we the subscribers engaged to lend to the Masonic Corporation of Fayetteville, on demand, the sums in chash which are affixed to our names respectively; to be redeemed as soon as the funds of the lodge will permit.
