Death of Mrs. A.M. Campbell
The sudden death of Mrs. A.M. Campbell, Saturday afternoon at six o'clock, while seated
in a chair and in apparently her usual good health, was a great shock to her family and caused
great sorrow in this community. Though seventy-eight years old, Mrs. Campbell has been enjoying
excellent health, and her death, from paralysis of the heart, came without warning.
In June, 1896, her husband, the late Archibald M. Campbell, after a life of great usefulness
and at the ripe old age of eighty-five years, preceded her across the river of eternal life. May
their sweet spirits be in communion at this moment.
The funeral took place Monday at eleven o'clock, the rector, Rev. I. W. Hughes, officiating
in the presence of a number of friends.
The pall-bearers were:
Mr. T.J. Crosswell, Mr. H. J. Marsh, Mr. John Underwood, Mr. Robert Strange, Major E.J. Hale,
Major Chas. Haigh, Mr. I.B. Hawley, Major B.R. Huske.
Four sons and four daughters survive the deceased: Major W.F. Campbell, and Messrs Charles
Campbell, Alexander Campbell and Archie Campbell, and Misses Alice Campbell, Ella Campbell, Fannie
Campbell and Mrs. Richard Daingerfield (Sarah Campbell).
