DIED KENITH MURCHISON Another Revolutionary Patriot gone to sleep with his compeers beneath the silent clods of the valley. Departed this life on the 12 in., Mr. Kenith Murchison, of this County , in his 88th year of age, leaving an aged consort and a large circle of relatives to mourn their irreplaceable loss. The subject of this obituary notice was a native of Scotland, from whence he came to North Carolina about the year 1773 , where he was soon found by the aide of his country defending her violated rights, liberties and repose, in which he maintained an American spirit worthy to be embalmed by his country's gratitude. As a Christian he was no less firm, having attached himself several since to the Presbyterian Church, of which he was a pious and devout member, and evincing by his moral deportment and humble walk that he was one of Christ's and in death he showed the clearest evidence, that beyond the grave, peaceful rest awaits the righteous: of him it may truly be said, having received the spirit of the living God and it grew and brightened until it shone forth in him the perfect man a friend and citizen . He was beloved and esteemed as a husband, tender and affectionate, as a father kind and compassionate. If he had vices they were enveloped in his virtues and hidden from those who knew him. During his last sickness he maintained unshaken, that fullness and resignation which alone characterizes the Christians, retaining his proper mind until a few moments before his spirit fled unto the bosom of his God.
