The top picture is Thomas L. Mason and
Eliza HAIR Bowden, Thomas was born abt. 1854 and d. 4 Sept. 1931 in Cumberland Co. he
married Eliza HAIR Bowden on 28 Jan 1875, she was b. abt. 1842 in Sampson Co.
and I don't have a death date for her yet, Eliza was married first to John W.
Bowden on 24 Nov. 1864 in Cumberland Co., it is believed that she was the
daughter of Guiford Hair and Martha "Patsey" ?, of Carvers Creek area of
Cumberland Co. The bottom picture is of their daughter Mary Liza Hair b. 17 May 1881 and d.
21 Dec. 1955, she married Arthur Reynold Wood (B. 31 Jul 1879 & d. 26 Jul
1941) on 22 Dec. 1898 in Cumberland Co. The little girl in the background is their granddaughter Lucille Ennis.

John Claude Hales (1911-1955) and Mildred Ann Fisher (1915-2000) taken in
the early 1930's before they were married. John Claude Hales was the son of Thomas Cleveland Hales (1887-1950) & Mattie
Caroline Davis (1887-1936) of Cumberland County. Mildred Ann Fisher, who was born in Bladen County, was the daughter of
Larry Burton Fisher (1888-1971) and Emma Blanche Melvin (1884-1964). They had one child, Anne Fisher Hales, who married
King Morrison Spell(1942-1985) of Sampson County.

Picture (ca 1895) shows Catherine C. (Kate) Adcox who married Wiley M.
Medlin 05 July 1883 at the residence of Sara A. Grimes Adcox, widow of
William Adcox of Seventy First Township, Cumberland County, with D.B.
Gillis, Justice of the Peace officiating, and D.E. Grimes, R. Gainey and
D.L. Grimes as witnesses. In the picture they are shown with son, George William Medlin, after they
moved to Georgia.

Bertie would have been approx. 20 (born 21 March 1899, died 25 Dec. 1968) and
Ervin would have also been approx. 20 (born 24 Jan. 1899, died May 19, 1947).
Bertie was the daughter of Archie J. and Elizabeth Dorcus Benson Jones.
Ervin was the son of Walter Ervin and Rena Jane Arnett Jones.
