Looking for any and all connections to PAGE and BREECE surnames that
lived in Cumberland County during the late 1800's to 1960's or so. Most

Co., NC. William WHITTLE, Sr. had sons William, Jr. and James who was born

and Catherine BUIE. John Buie McFarland married Sally Ann GORDON. Sally
died in Tattnall Co GA 18 Feb 1816. Where and when were they married? Their

John McEACHERN was born after 1780 in ? Cumberland Co., NC, and married
Elizabeth CONOLY circa 1821. He was a soldier in war of 1812. They moved
to Sumpter Co., GA in 1837 and on to Pike Co., AL in 1840. He was in the
Pike Co., AL census for 1840. I think they had 8 children. I am looking
for their descendants to complete a chapter in my work.

I am trying to information on the WILLIAMS family of Sanford, NC. Elijah
WILLAMS a slave, had a son named Jack WILLIAMS and he had 9 children. They
were Emma, Annie-Marie, John L., Alton, Hubbard, Levern, Louise, Glenn,
and Toy. All of which became land owners in the city of Sanford. Elijah
Williams also escaped from Cumberland County and a reward was posted.

Looking for Jessie Martin HALL born 10/1860 married to Jane Ellenn McKENZIE.
Jessie vanished after the 1910 Us Census. Jane died in Cumberland County
in 1922. Jessie is my GGrandfather whom I am stuck on. He was said to be
from Sampson County. Their children were: Fleet Hall, Della Hall, Jim Hall,
Shep HALL. Need to find grave or any other information. Have 1800 names
in data base and will share. Other related names: HOUGH, BRADSHAW, many

I am seeking information on the parents of Eldridge WEAVER. He was born
in November 1832 in Cumberland Co. and died in 1910 or 1911 in Wake Co.
He married Lucretia CARTER on October 9, 1853 in Cumberland Co., but this
may have been a second marriage: the 1850 federal census has him residing
with what appear to be a wife named Mary and a 2-year-old daughter named
Sarah C. Any information on this family will be very much appreciated!

I am desperately seeking information on my LOCKAMY family. Lovet LOCKAMY
was born in Sampson County, but enlisted for the Civil War in Cumberland
Co. I am trying to prove that Lovet, who married Martha J ? is the same

I am researching the family of William HOBSON (b.1813) who lived in
the Wayne Co., N.C. area around 1850. I am descended through his son Lewis
HOBSON (1838-1923) who moved into Cumberland Co., N.C. and eventually died
in the Raeford area of Hoke Co., N.C. which had previously been part of
Cumberland Co., N.C. I would really like to learn more about the HOBSON
family. It is kind of a lost family line in which my family lost contact
and I know little about them. I have some information I have researched
which I will be glad to share.

I am searching for an Archibald CLARK/CLARKE who had a daughter (name
unknown) that married a LONG (name unknown, possibly Thomas.) Their son
Archibald C. LONG was b. 1819 in Jefferson Co. Ms. From Early American
Series N.C. vol. 2, by Ronald Bern Jackson, Excelerated Indexing Systems,
I find 2 Archibald LONGs in Cumberland Co. NC. One in 1755 and one in 1767.
From LDS. Records: Arcibald CLARK b. 29April 1764, Cumberland Co. NC.,
d. Gibson TN. And Gilbert CLARK Jr. b. 2 April 1767, Cumberland Co. NC.

Looking for proof of marriage for my ancestors, William SMITH and Celia
HOGAN. According to Revolutionary Pension files, they were married in Cumberland
County, NC about 1774. I am seeking confirmation of this. Also would like
to have any information on the above mentioned people. They later moved
to Alabama where William died in Munroe County in 1824. Celia moved to
Tallapoosa County to be near her children where she died in 1849. Children

I'm looking for information on Neil CLARK, father of Malcolm CLARK.
Neil was married twice. Once to a MCARTHUR, once to a Flora (or Mary) MCKETHAN.
Neil had a son called Malcolm, born about 1790 in Harnett County, NC. Malcolm
married Penelope "Penny" VAUGHN (a child of Gideon VAUGHN and
Charity BABB, Penny was born in Wake County on February 18, 1836). Malcolm
and Penelope had at least five children: Neil Penny CLARK, Daniel Vaughn
CLARK, Charity Frances CLARK, Kate McPhail CLARK, and Stephen Gideon VAUGHN
(perhaps an illegitimate son of Penelope). Malcolm and Pneleope both died
in August 1865 in Cumberland County, NC. I need to know who Neil's parents
and siblings were, where and when they were born and died, and any other
information available on them or on Neil's relatives.

Searching for info on William James YATES of Fayetteville; born Aug.
27, 1827; father, James; mother, Elisabeth Bruce; sister, Harriet; brothers,
Gifford and Edwin Asbury. William's first wife, Mary L., died of influenza
during the 1857 epidemic. He worked for a local Fayetteville paper in his
youth, and wound up owning it. He moved to Charlotte and published a paper
there for many years. He is my g-g-grandfather. Any help appreciated.

Searching the CHAPMAN family, William and Mary. Their daughter Eliza
Ann CHAPMAN was born in Cumberland County 12 June 1806; sister was Anna
Jane CHAPMAN, brother was David CHAPMAN. Eliza Ann Chapman married Charles

Seeking info on Peggy WILLIAMS b.1855. She married Amos Threadgill in
Anson Co. around 1878, She had severalchildren prior to marrying Amos.
They were Susan b 1870 and Henry b. 1878. Her sister's name was Della Williams.
Della's child was William b. 1878. Early census and court records show
the Williams family in Cumberland and Sampson Counties as far back as the

I am very interested in the early McNEILLs in Cumberland County. My
ancestor Joseph GIST (b. abt 1748, VA, d. ?, prob. TN) He appears on the
1790, 1800 and 1810 Census of Cumberland County. He married Ann or Mary
McNEILL, daughter of Neill McNEILL. I am interested in the date of their

Tommy O'neal LOVE was born in Cumberland county in the late 1940's.
His father was Buster LOVE. Tommy has 11 brothers and sisters: Sally Jane,
Molly, Jackie, Edna, Frieland, etc. His grandparents are buried in a cemetary
in Massy Hill community. The family moved to GA when he was in high school.

My mother is a MONROE. She is a descendant of the Munros of Cumberland
Co., NC. The original member of the family to settle in NC is believed
to be John MUNRO. We believe that he was one of the original settlers of
the Jura Colony started by a Campbell in approx 1740. If anyone has any
information on any of the MUNRO, MONROE, MONRO, MUNROW family of Cumberland
Co, or of any of the original Argyll Colony settlers, please contact me.

Who was Richard CRENSHAW b April 9(?) 1763, presumably, in Cumberland
Co., NC. In the KIRVEN BIBLE RECORD on file with the Darlington Co., SC.,
Historical Society it is stated that it was he "who wrote this"
(the KERVIN family Bible recordings). How was he connected with the KERVIN
family?
