Carolina, Currituck County} By consent of the parties that is to say Richard Holstead and Joshua Holstead I have laid off for Joshua Holstead a part of the land whereon Lemuel Holstead deceased formerly Lived on begining at a pine on the Swamp side, a corner between Josiah Bell and James Cowell thence running...by a line of marked trees to a small Sweet Gum, on Bells Road side, then along the Road...to the Mouth of the lain...to a Maple Stump, a corner then to the beginning containing 33 acres & 19 pole on which stands the whole of the buildings &c. March 4, 1802.

Recd. from Mary Holstead widow of Seth Holstead the above Ballance of thirty six pounds five shillings and five pence in full for the above ballances.

Currituck County We the Subscribers being Mutally Chosen by Jesse Simmons Admr. of Seth Holstead and by Jesse Holstead Guardian of Seth Holsteads Children and Thomas Mercer Grandfather to said orphans, have met and appraised the legacies left by Seth Holstead to his wife Mary and divided the whole of the Neat proceeds of said Estate including Seth Holsteads part of money recd. from his fathers Estate, they having agreed that Seth Holstead have no right to the Negroes that belonged to Elias Dauges orphans &c. and that his widow have no part of the negroes left by Lemuel Holstead to Seth Holstead, and find a ballance of thirty six pounds five Shillings and five pence, due from Mary Holstead to the children of Seth Holstead.
Given under our hands and seals this 2d day of March 1801
