North Carolina, Currituck County - To all people to whom these presents shall come greeting. Know ye that I Benjamin COWELL of the county and province aforesaid in consideration of the sum of twenty seven pounds current money of Virginia to me in had paid before the ensealing and delivery hereof by my son Solomon COWELL of the county and province aforesaid the --------where of I do hereby acknowledge and myself there with fully satisfied and content and paid and there of and every part and parcel there of do exonerate acquit and discharge the said Solomon COWELL of his heirs executors administrators forever by these presents have given granted bargained sold alien conveyed confirmed and by these presents do freely fully and absolutely give grant bargain sell convey and confirm unto the said Solomon COWELL his heirs and assigns forever one certain piece or parcel of land containing two hundreds acres of land lying and being in the county of Tyrrell in the province aforesaid beginning at a hickory on the east side of great alligator then running as with course to a black gum tree then North to a line of marked trees them being on Richard McCLURE line by patent baring date one thousand seven hundred and forty eight . To have and to hold the said granted and bargained premises with all the appurtenances privileges and commodities to the same belonging or in anywise appertaining to him the said Solomon COWELL his heirs and assigns forever and I the said Benjamin COWELL for my heirs executors administrators do convent promise and grant to and with the said Solomon COWELL his heirs and assigns that before the ensealing hereof I am the true sole and lawful owner of the above bargained premises and am lawfully seized and possessed of the same in mine own proper right as a good perfect and absolute estate of inheritance and in myself good rights and lawful authority to grant bargain sell convey and confirm the same bargained premises in manner as above said and that the said Solomon COWELL his heirs and assigns shall and may from time to time and at all times hereafter by virtue of these presents lawfully peaceably and quietly have hole use occupy premises and enjoy the said premises and bargained premises with the appurtenances free and clear and freely and clearly acquitted exonerated and discharge of and from all manner of former gifts grants bargains sale leases mortgages wills intails jointer dowry judgments incumbrances and trouble whatsoever and I the said Benjamin COWELL do further covenant and bind myself my heirs executors and administrators by these presents to warrant and defend the said Solomon COWELL in quiet and peaceable possession of all and singular the said grated premises against any just or lawful claim of any person or persons whatsoever in which whereof I the said Benjamin COWELL have hereunto set my hand and fixed my seal this day of august in the year of our lord 1755.  /s/ Benjamin COWELL; Elizabeth COWELL.
