Received of W.B. McCLANNEN adm. of Elizabeth BRAY Dec’d. One hundred and twelve 68/100 dollars in full of my distributive share of said Dec’d. Estate excepting my share of whatever amount may be realized of the Insolvent-notes which have been deemed insolvent. See Account of W.B. Twenty eight 17/100 in full of the distributive share of Eugenie BAXTER (born LEE) excepting her share of whatever amount may be realized of the Insolvent-notes which have been deemed insolvent.  See Account of said W.B. Received of W.B. McCLANNEN Adm. of Elizabeth BRAY Dec’d. Eighty four 51/100(sic) dollars in full of the claims of my Wards Kansas LEE Nebraska LEE and Angelica LEE, it being twenty eight 17/100 dollars to each share, excepting their share of whatever amount may be realized of the Insolvents notes which have been deemed insolvent—See Account of said W.B. [Deed Book 31; pg. 563]  Nicy WILLIAMS to Isaac H. HAMPTON Currituck Co., NC.  This Indenture made & entered into on this 25th day of April 1872 by and Between Nicy WILLIAMS of one part & Isaac H. HAMPTON of the other part both parties of the County & State aforesaid.  Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of fifty dollars to me in hand paid by the said I. H. HAMPTON I the said Nicy WILLIAMS doth bargain, sell and convey unto the said I H HAMPTON a certain tract or parcel of land situate and lying in Narrow Shore Precinct  - Poplar Branch Township bounded as follows. begining at John WILLIAMS line a corner – thence West with and binding said WILLIAMS line to Dempsey WILLIAMS line thence south binding said Dempsey WILLIAMS line to Abraham BAUMs line, thence East with said BAUMs line to the Main road thence North with said Road to the first station containg Eleven (11) acres more or less – to have & to hold the aforesaid land & premises forever, & I the said Nicy WILLIAMS at the time of executing these presents am seized of an indefeasable estate of inheritance and have full and lawful power to convey the same in Manner and form aforesaid and that the said Isaac H. HAMPTON his heirs and assigns shall henceforward have & hold peaceable possession & Quiet enjoyment of the same free from any and all judgements, executions mortgages, leases trusts recognizant, down right and all other incumbrances heretofore accrued and for the better security of the same I the said Nicy WILLIAMS bind myself my heirs Extrs admrs. & assigns with the said Isaac H. HAMPTON his heirs Extrs adrs. [admrs.] and assigns forever & in fee simple & I further more forever covenant and warrant and defend the right and title aforesaid conveyed.  In testimony whereof I the said Nicy WILLIAMS set my hand & seal the date as above written.  signed sealed and delivered in presence of S. Currrituck County - In Probate Court.  The execution of the within deed from Nicy WILLIAMS to I. H. HAMPTON was proved this the 27 April 1872 before the undersigned Judge of Probate for said County by the oath and examination of L. N. SIMMONS the subscribing witness thereto Therefore let the said deed together with this certificate be Registered.  /s/ A. O. DEY, P.J.  Registered Sept. 2nd 1872.  /s/ Wily MATHIA, R.D.

[Deed Book 31; pg. 578]  Dempsey & Mahala WILLIAMS to David W. HAMPTON.  Currituck County, N.C.  This Indenture made and entered into this 9th day of November 1872 betwen Dempsey WILLIAMS & wife Mahala of the one part and David W. HAMPTON of the other part all of the County & State aforesaid.  Witnesseth that the said Dempsey WILLIAMS & wife Mahala for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and twenty five dollars to them in hand paid by David W. HAMPTON the receipt of which is herby acknowledged have bargained and sold and by these present do bargain Sell and convey unto the said David W. HAMPTON his heirs and assigns two certain pieces or parcels of land lying & being in the County of Currituck on Narrow Shore one piece adjoining the lands of Jno. WILLIAMS SR. on the North on the east by the lands of the Said HAMPTON on the South by the lands belonging to William WILLIAMS [SR.?] on the West by the lands of the said Jno WILLIAMS SR. containing eleven acres more or less and the interest of the said Dempsey WILLIAMS in the Mill road it being the piece of land divided by Nancy WILLIAMS in her last will and testament to the said Mahala WILLIAMS for her life time & to the said Dempsey WILLIAMS in fee simple  Reference being made to said will duly recorded in clerks office Currituck County will more freely show also the interest of the said Dempsey WILLIAMS absolute & reverting in a certain piece of undivided Swamp Land adjoining the lands of Jno WILLIAMS and others containing seventy two acres more or less his interest in the Same being a sixth to have and to hold the aforesaid bargained and Sold lands together with the improvements privaledges and appurtenances thereto belonging or in any wise appertaining to him the said D W HAMPTON his heirs and assigns in fee simple forever and the said Dempsey WILLIAMS and wife Mahaha for themselves there heirs and assigns do covenant and agree to warrent and forever defend the Title hereby conveyed from the lawful claims of any and all persons whatever In witness whereof the said Dempsey WILLIAMS & wife  have hereunto set there hands and Seals day & date first written.  /s/ Dempsey WILLIAMS, Mahala WILLIAMS.

Currituck County - In Probate Court.   Be it remembered that on this the 9th day of November 1872 personally appeared before the undersigned Judge of Probate for Said County Dempsey WILLIAMS and Mahala WILLIAMS his wife The persons described in and who signed the foregoing deed and acknowledged the due execution thereof by choice as there act & deed And therefore the said Mahala WILLIAMS being privately examined by the undersigned separate and apart from her said husband touching her free consent in the execution thereof doth State that she signed the same freely and without any force from or undue influence of the said husband or any other person and that she did still voluntarily assent thereto  Therefore let the said deed with this certificate to registered.  /s/ A O DEY, Judge Probate.  Recorded the 9th day of November 1872.  /s/ H. [Deed Book 31; pg. 637]  Mar. 4, 1873 - Jos. WILSON sold to Talman S. BERRY of Camden Co., NC, for $1.00, a portion of so called WILSON tract from a deed of trust which lies West of the Indian Ridge Road containing nearly 20 acres more or less and binding the lands of J.E.C. BELL & Jos. B. GRANDY. Recorded: May 14, 1873.

[Deed Book 31; pg. 637]  Mar. 4, 1873 - Talman S. BERRY of Camden Co., NC, sold to J.E.C. BELL of Currituck Co., NC, for $400.00 a certain parcel of land bounded on East by Indian Ridge Road, on South and West by lands of J.E.C. BELL on the North by the lands of Jos. B. GRANDY, it being a portion of the so call WILSON Tract which lies West of the Indian Ridge Road containing nearly 20 acres more or less.  Recorded: May 14, 1873.
