This Ante-Nuptial contract entered into this the (blank) day of April 1883 between W.R. GORDON of the first part and Mrs. Virginia McHORNEY of the second part both of Currituck County. That in consideration of the marriage agreed upon by the said W.R. GORDON and Mrs. Virginia V. McHORNEY that she agrees that in case she survives him and contracts another marriage that she now does and will in the event above mentioned relinquish and surrender any dower that she may by law be entitled to as the widow of W.R. GORDON to his children Emily M. MORRISETT, Maggie GORDON, W.T. GORDON, Blanch GORDON, L.S. GORDON, Fanny L. GORDON and Mary V. GORDON or their heirs or assigns. W.R. GORDON reserving the right to designate by will or other written instrument any exception or exclusion as to the benefits in the above relinquishment to any of the above mentioned children. Said relinquishment and assignment to apply and extend to any children that may result from the marriage now in contemplation and being contracted for by the aforesaid W.R. GORDON and Virginia V.
