18 Oct 1886 - Application for Letters of Administration - W.S. BALLANCE & Levi BALLANCE, being sworn, state that Dorcas BALLANCE is dead without leaving a will and that Levi BALLANCE, JR. is the proper person entitled to Letters of Administration on said estate. They further state that the value of the estate is about $100 and that W.S. BALLANCE, Levi BALLANCE, Timothy BALLANCE, Virginia KINLEY and Cinderella KINLEY are entitled as heirs and distributees thereof. /s/ W.S. BALLANCE & Levi BALLANCE
18 Oct 1886 - Administrator's Oath - Levi BALLANCE, JR. swears to faithfully perform the duties of administrator. /s/ Levi BALLANCE
18 Oct 1886 - Petition to Sell Personal Property for Cash - Levi BALLANCE, JR., administrator of Dorcas BALLANCE, deceased, shows that it would best serve the interests of the heirs at law and creditors of the estate to sell the personal property of said deceased. /s/ Levi BALLANCE, JR. [An order to sell the property was included and signed by H.B. ANSELL, C.S.C.]
