19 Jul 1887 - Commissioners met to lay off to Caroline BAXTER, widow of Dallas BAXTER, articles of personal property. Total amounted to $663.60. The commissioners find that the family, besides the widow, consists of 7 children, six of whom are under the age of 15. They also find a list of accounts due the estate. Various debtors were Maryland ETHERIDGE, Skinner WALKER, Luke HUGHS, Henry SPELLMAN, Chloe COWELL and the Good Hope Church. /s/ J.L. DeCORMIS, Richard SPELLMAN, Alfred [x] DOZIER
19 Sept 1887 - Judgment for Deficiency-Widow's Year's Allowance - Caroline BAXTER, widow, against the personal representative or administrator of Dallas BAXTER, decd. Commissioners were appointed to lay off and allot to Caroline BAXTER her year's allowance out of the crop, stock and provision of her deceased husband. Amount of deficiency was $255.76. A list of articles of personal property was attached. Said deficiency is to be paid by the personal representative or administrator. /s/ H.B. ANSELL, Clerk Superior Court
