Truxton Sykes Etheridge & Emeline (Guard) Etheridge Baum

Emeline Guard was born May 24, 1845 to William Guard & Nancy (Hill) Guard.  She died in Kitty Hawk, N.C. on Nov. 27, 1932.  She was 1st married to Truxton Sykes Etheridge (1842-1877), son of Spencer Etheridge & Matilda Overman, about 1863 and they had 8 children.
     1. Matilda Overman Etheridge (1865-1953) married George Washington Baum
     2. Spencer Etheridge (1866-died young)
     3. William Guard Etheridge (1868 - died young)
     4. Mary Hollard Etheridge (1869-1969) married Franklin Harrison Wood Midgett [see her photo here]
     5. Abia "Aby" Etheridge (1872-1943) married Oliver Nelson Twiford
     6. Hildegard G. Etheridge (1874-1963) married William Robert "Bob" Perry
     7. Bertha Mae Etheridge (1875-1950) Frederick Perry
     8. Dency Flora Etheridge (1876-1953) married William "Bill" Partridge

After the death of Truxton, Emeline married Edward "Neddie" Baum and this union produced 2 more children.
     1. Edward Nelson Baum (1881-1954)
     2. Ellsworth Jackson Baum (1886-1944)

Emeline is buried in the Austin Cemetery in Kitty Hawk.
