Tom Newbern Home
Located on U.S. Highway 158 north of Powells Point. The material from which this house was constructed, it is said, were hauled there from the Outer Banks by the O'Neals and set up at O'Neal Landing. Through the O'Neals it descended by inheritance to the Woodhouses and then to the Newberns. Thomas Edward Newbern was born in 1842 and died in 1916. |
