Oliver Hazard Perry Lee was born about 1828 to Daniel Lee & Nancy Ballentine. Oliver married Angelica Bray before 1850. He reportedly died of pneumonia from scavenging for firewood in the deep snow that fell in January 1857. He died within a few days of his wife. They left 4 young daughters who were entrusted to his half-brother, Jerome B. Lee, as guardian, however, in 1860 these girls were living with a woman named Elenor McClannen. Angelica Bray was born c1829 to William Bray and Elizabeth Caves. Angelica & Oliver had 4 daughters: Virginia Augusta "Eugenia" who was born in 1850, twins Arkansas & Nebraska who were born in 1853, and Angelica who was born in 1856. She also reportedly died of pneumonia within days of her husband's death. Oliver and Angelica were buried at Guinea Forks at Tulls Creek but there are no headstones.

Arkansas "Kansas" Lee, daughter of Oliver & Angelica (Bray) Lee, was born c1853 and died c1892. She married John Alvin Sears, III on Oct. 3, 1876 and they had 4 children: Annie Lee born Oct. 27, 1879, Margaret Lee "Mag" born Nov. 23, 1882, Emerson S. born Sept. 9, 1885, and Mollie Lee born June 20, 1890. Annie Lee Sears, daughter of John Alvin & Arkansas (Lee) Sears, III, was born Oct. 27, 1879 and died May 5, 1938. Annie married Mitchell Simmons Ferebee, Jr. on July 20, 1898 and they had 12 children, 9 of them living to adulthood: 1) Mitchell Simmons Ferebee, III born July 1, 1899 & died Oct. 12, 1958, 2) Lucinda born April 19, 1901, 3) Emma born Mar. 9, 1903 & died Oct. 10, 1978, 4) Sudie born Feb. 6, 1906 & died Mar. 24, 1996, 5) George born Mar. 26, 1909 and was murdered on Aug. 10, 1936, 6) Walter J. born May 29, 1914 & died Dec. 4, 2000, 7) Robert born Apr. 19, 1917 & died July 1966, 8) Mamie Marie born Sept. 6, 1919, and 9) Nellie Virginia born Dec. 30, 1921.

Mollie Lee Sears, daughter of John Alvin & Arkansas (Lee) Sears, III, was born June 20, 1890 and died September 1, 1945. She married Isaac Doxey on June 14, 1905. Isaac was the brother of Jerome Doxey who married Mollie's sister, Margaret.

Margaret Lee "Mag" Sears, daughter of John Alvin & Arkansas (Lee) Sears, III, was born Nov. 23, 1882 and died May 22, 1969. She married Jerome Doxey on December 2, 1900.

Emerson S. Sears, son of John Alvin & Arkansas (Lee) Sears, III, was born in Shawboro, NC Sept. 9, 1885 and died December 9, 1984. He married Edith Mae Walker on Feb. 13, 1910. Edith, daughter of William Walker and Sue Harris, was born Sept. 2, 1893 and died at the age of 38 on May 14, 1932. Emerson and Edith are buried in Hampton Cemetery in Waterlily, NC. Emerson and Edith had 3 children:
1) William Emerson Sears born Mar. 19, 1913 and died June 27, 1971
2) Bessie Louise Sears born Oct. 19, 1915
3) Susie M. Sears born c1922.
