Bessie Mae Walker, daughter of Wiley O'Kelly Walker & Mary Elizabeth "Lizzie" Ferebee, was born in Currituck County on May 1, 1881 and died in Shawboro, NC on Oct. 25, 1945 [see death certificate].  Bessie married Nathan O'Neal Owens in Currituck Co. on August 8, 1902.  Nathan, born Jan. 30, 1866, was the son of Willoughby Owens (1841-1913) & Susan Jane O'Neal (1832-1907).  Nathan & Bessie are buried in the Olds-Newbern Cemetery in Jarvisburg, NC.
