Jesse Partridge

Jesse Partridge was born in Kitty Hawk on April 3, 1839 and died in Dare Co., NC on Feb. 26, 1907. He was the son of Willis G. & Elizabeth Partridge. Jesse was appointed as the Lighthouse Keeper of the Kill Devil Hills station on Dec. 9, 1878 and resigned from the service on Sept. 28, 1899. He first married Letitia Sibbern (1830-1872) before c1861 and they had 4 children.
   1) William T. Partridge (1862-1867)
   2) James Willis Partridge (1865-1872)
   3) E. Van Buren Partridge (1867-1870)
   4) Elizabeth "Bettie" Partridge (1870-1943) - married William Thomas Tillett
Jesse married Rutha A. Myers (1839-1881) in East Lake on July 29, 1872 and they had 3 children.
   1) George Partridge (1873-1892)
   2) William "Bill" Partridge (1874-1938) - married Dencie Flora Etheridge
   3) Joseph Etheridge "Joe" Partridge (1875-1933) - married Mincie D. Twiford
Jesse married Florence M. Tillett (1868-1908) on May 8, 1884 and they had 12 children.
   1) Lilly May Partridge (1885-1892)
   2) Jesse James Partridge (1886-1954) - married 1^st Flora ???; 2^nd Nancy Elizabeth Hudson
   3) C.H. Partridge [male] (1888-1888)

Joseph Etheridge Partridge, son of Jesse Partridge and Rutha A. Myers, was born in Kitty Hawk, Currituck County, on Nov. 2, 1875 and died Jan. 27, 1933. He married Mincie D. Twiford in 1902. Mincie was born on Nov. 7, 1885 and died Dec. 21, 1960. To them were born seven children:
   1) Ruth Mae Partridge (1903-1941) married Mahlon Brooks Midgett
   2) Carrie K. Partridge (1905-1990) married Milton Thomas Culpepper
   3) Oscar C. Partridge (1907-1933) never married
   4) Irma L. Partridge (1910-1983) married William Thomas Beacham, II
   5) Della Bateman Partridge (1912-1944) married Reuben Benjamin Haskett, Sr.
   6) Ira Vernon Partridge (1914-1981) married Bessie Emma Jane Tillett
   7) Josephine Etheridge Partridge (1917-1979) married Jackson Sanderlin Twiford, Jr.
