Currituck County Photographs
This photo was found in the photo album formerly owned by Clarence Eugene and Sarah Nevada (Burton) Walker who lived near Coinjock, N.C. until the late 1920's when they moved to Hertford, Perquimans County, N.C. Clarence was the son of Nathaniel J. Walker and Fannie Davis Hampton and Sarah Nevada was the daughter of Dempsey Burton and Mary Virginia Saunders. This album is currently owned by Garland and Glenda Walker. Glenda's comments about this photo: "The woman is related to Sarah Nevada Burton Walker (born 1882 - died 1976). The resemblance to Sarah is very striking and the picture was found in her effects. It is not Sarah's mother, Mary Virginia Saunders Burton Parker, nor her sister, Lucy B. Lee. A possibility is her Aunt Letha Saunders (married name unknown). A good guess for the men would be the woman's husband and son." If anyone can identify this photo please drop me a line.
