According to his death certificate, Mager E. (sometimes seen as Major) Woodhouse was born in Jarvisburg, NC on Jan. 29, 1844 to Thomas Woodhouse and Polly Whitehall.  He died in the Poplar Branch Twp. of Currituck Co. on January 23, 1930 of acute dilation of the heart and he was laid to rest the following day.  He was almost 86 years old and widowed at the time of his death.  He married Margaret Gallop Banks in Charlotte, NC on May 26, 1873 and she preceded him in death from ptomaine poisoning on July 2, 1923 [see her headstone in the Jesse Jarvis Evans Cemetery in Grandy, NC].  Mager and Margaret had 6 known children.
