In the nam of God amen, I John P. ADAMS of Currituck County, do make and ordain this to be my Last Will and Testament,
First I recommend that all my just debts be paid and the remainder of my estate I dispose of in manner and form following--------
Imprimise I lend unto my beloved Wife Elizabeth ADAMS during her widowhood the whole of my lands plantation stock and household furniture and all my other property of every kind during her widowhood as afsd. and I give unto my said Wife one feather bed and furniture and one chest to her and her heirs for ever and no more of my estate.
Item I give and bequeath to my Son Asa ADAMS the whole of my land and plantation after the marriage or death of my said Wife to him and his heirs for ever----------
Item the remainder of my estate I give to be equally divided at the marriage or death of my Wife between my Son Asa ADAMS and my Daughter Luraner ADAMS to them and their for ever.
and I do ordain and appoint my loving Wife Elizabeth ADAMS my hole and sole executor to this my Last Will and Testament in testamony whereof I have this 11th day of June 1797 signed sealed published and pronounced this and no other to be my Last Will and Testament
