In the name of God Amen. I John AYDELETT of the County of Currituck and State of north Carolina, being now sick and weak in body but of a sound and perfect mind and memory, knowing that it is appointed for all once to die and appear in judment, first of all I recommend my soul to almighty God who gave it me, and my body to be buried in such like christian manner as may be to the discretion of my executors after mentioned, and as touching such worldy concern as has pleased God to bless me with, I give demise, bestow and bequeath in the following manner. Viz.

Item. I give and bequeathe unto my beloved Wife Mary AYDELETT one feather bed and furniture, her first choice, during her natural life or widowhood, also one bue chest, one linen wheel, during her natural life or widowhood.

Item. I give unto my two Sons Elijah and Bowen AYDELETT, each of them one gun as I gave them to Enoch when purchased.

Item. All the remainder of my personal estate after settling all my just debts I desire to be equally divided between my beloved Wife and my two Sons Mary, Elijah and Bowen AYDELOTT, to them and their heirs forever; also such part as is given of to my Wife at her death to go and return to my two Sons before named or intermarriage as the law directs, made and provided in such cases.

Item. I give and bequeath unto my Son David's heirs one shilling, unto them and their heirs as I gave him of such part as I intended when he married.

And lastly, I make, constitute, ordain and appoint this my Last Will and Testament and no other former will gift or any other part to be binding but this present will also I make ordain and appoint James MELSON my true and lawful executor of this my Last Will and Testament him and no other ratifying all and every part of this to be my free will and Testament. In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 9th day of November 1815.
