The last will and Testament of Ann BALLENCE deceased was exhibited in open court at November term 1843 and the execution of the same proved by the testamoney of Wiliam S. CHAPLAIN and John JARVES SER. subscribing evedences there to in due form ordered recorded.
In the name of God Amen, I Ann BALLENCE of the County of Currituck being in a vary low state of helth at this time but of a sound mind and memory do this day make and ordain this my last will and Testament in manner and form following.
Item 1 I leave all my just debts to be paid.
Item 2 I give and bequeath unto my Brother James W. BALLENCE Five Shillings to him and his heirs for ever.
Item 3 I give and bequeath Aseneath BALLENCE Five shillings to her and her heirs for ever.
Item 4 I give and bequeath unto the heirs of Patsey WALKER the sum of Five shillings to them and their heirs for ever.
Item 5 I give and bequeath unto the heirs of Mariam DOUGLASS the sum of Five shillings to them and their heirs forever.
Item 6 I give and bequeath unto my brother Wilson BALLENCE the sum of Sixty four dollars and 28/100 it being the sum my land sold for which is now in the hands of the clerk and Master of Equity to him the said Wilson BALLENCE and his heirs forever.
Item 7 After my just debts being paid I give all my movable property to my Sister Winford BALLENCE to her and her heirs for ever.
Lastly I do make and appoint my brother Wilson BALLENCE the hole and sole executor to this my last will and Testament where unto I have set my hand and fixt my seal this 12 day of September 1843.
