Currituck CountyI Benjamin Franklin BALLANCE being sound mind & memory and considering the uncertainty of life, do make ordain and declare this to be my last will & testament revoking all others heretofore made by me.
Item 1st I give and bequeath unto my Brother Uriah BALLANCE my gun and all its apparatuses to have and to hold forever.
Item 2nd I leave my Wife Lydia Ann BALLANCE my sole executrix, I wish her to pay my debts after which I give and bequeath the residue of my estate chattels, notes, moneys, lands and all proceeds arising from whatever source to have and to hold from all incumbrance forever. Witness my hand and seal this the 21st day of Jany. 1862.
