In the name of God Amen, I Jehu BALANCE County of Currituck, the State of North Carolina, being sick and wek in body, but of sound mind, memory and understanding praised be God for it and considerin the certeanty of death and the uncertainty of the time there of and to the end I may be the better prepared to leave this world, whenever it shall please God to call me hence do therefore make and declare this my Last Will and Testament. In manner that is to say first and principally I commend my soul into the hands of Almighty God my creator hoping for the pardon and remision of all my sins and to enjoy everlasting happiness in the heavenly kingdon through Jesus Christ my Saviour my body I commend to the earth at the discretion of my executors herein after named and I lend to my loven Wife Sabra BALANCE all of my property in dors and out dors the third part of the Schooner three sisters and after her death or marray and then to be equel divided among my three Daughters Frankey and Choey, Judy. I leave my Wife Sabra BALANCE my so long as she lives single or death takes her from the estate. This my Last Will and Testament. Witness my hand and seal.

Testament of Jehu BALANCE was proved in open Court by the oaths of
Wiloughby
BALANCE, and Uriah BALANCE subscribing witnesses thereto in form of law and
ordered to be recorded when the executrix came into open court and qualified in
due form of law and ordered that letters testamentary issue and it has in
pursuance of said order been examined and recorded Feby 10th 1826.
