In the name of God, Amen. I Mary BALLANCE of the State of North Carolina, Currituck County, being weak in body, but of sound mind and memory, blessed be God for the same. I do this day make and publish my Last Will and Testament in maner and form following, that is to say first I lend unto my Daughter in Law Kisiah BALLANCE her natrel lief in my land and plantation where I formerly lived, her natrel life, to make what use of she pleases and after her death to be equally divided between my three Grand Sons whose names is Samuel BALLANCE and John BALLANCE and Westly BALLANCE, also I give and bequeath unto Sarah BALLANCE my Grandaughter one feather bed first choice also one cow and calf first choice and all the remainder to be equally divided between my four Grand children, SAMUEL BALLANCE and Sarah BALLANCE, and John BALLANCE and Wesly BALLANCE and I appoint my Grandson Samuel BALLANCE my lawful executor to this my Last Will and Testament revoking all other wills by me made to the present date, as witness whereunto I have set my hand and seal this 20th day of February 1822.
