In the name of God Amen, I Henry BALLENTINE of the County of Currituck and State of North Carolina calling to mind the nonecertainty of this life, and it being ordained for all men once to die do make and ordain this instrument of writing to contain my Last Will and Testament:
First, that is to say, I recommend my soul to Allmighty God that gave it and my body to be bured in a christain like manner and as to what estate it hath been please God to give me, I give and dispose in manner and form as folloeth.

My will and desire is that my well beloved Wife Mary should have the use of the best dwelling house, one kitching, and smoke house during her widowhood; and also I give to my afsd. Wife Mary four cattle her first choice, and twenty hogs her first choice, also one negroe woman named Sue, and one bed and firneture her first choice and all the spining wheels wooling and linnin and one lomb, and the fackling belonging to it, the best chist and the best table, and six of the best chairs, and the best pott and frying pann and safe and a pair of dogg irons, and a pair of flatt irons, and looking glass, and one half of the pewter, and one half of the tubbs pails and pigings to her and her heirs forever. Also my will and desire is that my afsd. Wife Mary should have the use of my negro man named Lamb during her widowhood. Also my ridin chair and harness dureing my afsd. Wifes widowhood and also one boefat during her widowhood, and the firntor belonging to it, and tea kittle and trivatt to my afsd. Wife Mary forever.

Item: I give and bequeth unto my two Sons Joseph BALLENTINE and Davise BALLENTINE the lands and plantation wheron I now live to be equally devided between them only my Son Joseph his first choice, to them and their heirs forever.

Item: I give and bequeath unto my Son Henry BALLENTINE all the lands I bought of Hanson and Solomon BRIGHT to him and his heirs forever. I also give my Son Henry one negroe boy named Lamb to him and his heirs forever.

Item: I give and bequeth unto my Daughter Lydia BENNET all the property which I bought at vandue of the property of John BENNET which was confistacated to the public, to her and her heirs forever, and also one negroe gairl named Patiance to her and her heirs forever.

Item: I give and bequeth unto my Daughter Euphan BENNETT one negroe gairl named Choloe to her and her heirs forever.

Item: I give and bequeth unto my Daughter Mary BRIGHT one negroe gairl named Rachal to her and her heirs for- ever.

Item: I give and bequeth unto my Daughter Lovey BALLENTINE one negroe gairl namd Charlottie to her and her heirs forever. Also I give to my afsd. Daughter Lovey BALLENTINE one half of a negroe woman named Pegg to her and her heirs forever.

Item: I give and bequeth unto my Daughter Sarah FEREBEE one negroe gairl named Silvey to her and her heirs forever. Also one half of the negroe woman Pegg to her and her heirs forever.

Item: I give and bequeth unto my Daughter Julan BALLENTINE one negroe man named Toney to her and her heirs forever and also one negroe gairl named Dinah and one bed and foinetor the second best and my riding chair and harness and boefat and the firntor belonging to it to her and her heirs forever.

Item: I give to my two Sons Joseph and Davis the negroe called Lamb after my Wifes marriage or death to them and their heirs forever. Also my will and meaning is that the gift to my two Sons Joseph and Davis should include all my lands joining to the land where I now live on to them and their heirs forever.

I also constitue and appoint my Son Joseph and my friend Lemuel WILSON my whole and sole executors to this my Last Will and Testament to see all my estate settled according to this my Last Will and the law shall require as witness my hand and seal this 10th day of November 1791
