In the name of God Amen.
This 27th of August 1814.
I Henry BALLENTINE of the County of Currituck and State of North Carolina, being at this time low in health, but of perfect sense, mind and memory, thanks be to God for the same and calling to mind the certainty of death and that it is appointed for all men to die do make and ordain this my Last Will and Testament. First I leave the use of my land and plantation to my beloved Wife durring her widowhood, then to be equally divided between my two Sons, Henry and John Guiden BALLENTINE.
Lastly I do appoint my friend John COX, my whole and sole executor of this my Last Will and Testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this day and year above written.
