In the name of God Amen. I Luke BARNARD of the County of Currituck State of North Carolina, being very low and weak, but in perfect mind and memory thanks be given to god for the same calling unto mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die, do make and ordain this my Last Will and Testament, that is to say, principally and first of all, I give and recommend my soul unto Almighty God, that gave it, and my body I recommend to the earth to be buried decent, christian burial at the discretion of my executors, not doubting but at the general resurrection I shall receive the same again by the mighty power of god to bless me with in this life I give dismis and dispose of in the following manner and form.
First I give unto my Wife Rachel BARNARD all and singular my property after paying my just debts, within doors and without doors to her and her heirs and assigns forever only at the freedom or marriage of Polly Caves OWINS [sic] to give her one bed and furniture
Also I leave my Wife Rachel BARNARD and James BRABLE my sole executruse of this my Last Will and Testament and I hereby utterly disallow, revoke and disannul all and every other former Testaments, wills, legacies, bequeaths and executors by me in any way before named willed and bequeathed, ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my Last Will and Testament in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this the tenth day of November in the year of our lord one thousand eight hundred and ten.

Signed, sealed, published, pronounced and seclared by the said Luke BARNARD as his Last Will and testament in the presence of us who in his presence and in the presence of each other have hereunto described our names
