In the name of God Amen.
I Sarah Ann BELL of the County of Currituck and State of North Carolina being in reasonable health and of sound mind and memory blessed be god do this the 29 day of September in the year of our Lord 1857, make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following that is to say.
I give and bequeath unto beloved Son Demosthenes BELL all of my estate both real & personal of every kind or nature whatsoever to him and his heirs and assigns forever. In witness whereof I do hereunto set my hand and seal the day and above named.

A paper writing purporting to be the last and will and testament of Sarah Ann BELL deceased is exhibited before me the undersigned Judge of Probate for said County by L.M. BELL and the due execution thereof by the said Sarah Ann BELL, by the oath and examination of B.T. SIMMONS and E. SIMMONS the subscribing witnesses thereto who being duly sworn doth depose and say and each for himself deposeth and saith that he is a subscribing witness to the paper writing now shown him purporting to be the last will and testament of said Sarah Ann BELL in the presence of these deponents-subscribed her name at the end of said paper writing which is now shown as aforesaid and which bears date on the 29th day of September 1857 and the deponent further saith that the said Sarah Ann BELL the testatrix aforesaid did at the time of subscribing her name as aforesaid declare the said paper writing so subscribed by her and exhibited to be her last [will] and testament, and these deponents did thereupon subscribe their names at the end of said will as attesting witnesses thereto and at the request and in the presence of the said testatrix and these deponents further saith that at the said time when the testatrix subscribed her name to the said last will as and attesting witnesses thereto as aforesaid the said Sarah Ann BELL was of sound mind and memory, of full age to execute a will, and was not under any restraint to the knowledge information or belief of these deponents and further these deponents say not. Severally sworn and subscribed this the 8th day of March 1869 before me. /s/ J.B. LEE Probate Judge
