Currituck County ss October twenth 1792, The Last Will and Testament of Thomas BETCHAMs Dec. exhibited;
And in the name of God Amen, I Thomas BEATCHAM SR. of the State of North Carolina Currituck County, being veary sick and weak in bed but of perfect mind and memory Thanks be given to god colling unto mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men to die do make and ordain this my Last Will and Testament that is to say by and first of all I give and resend my soul into the hands of Almighty God that gave it and my body I recommend to the earth to be buried in decent christain bural at the dersion of my executor nothing douting but at the general I shall receive the saim again by the mighty power of God, and as such worldy estate wherewith it hath God to bless me with in this life I give desire and dispose of the same in the following manner and form.
First I give and bequeth unto my lawfull Son John BECTCHAM my hou (sic) and land and to Zabulan and Thomas BETCHAM my two guns and three feather beds to be divided between my youngest children Zabulan and Annas and Thomas BETCHAM, Annas the loam and the two wheales, and Zabulan the case and Thomas chest and all the creature to be divided betwen my Zabulan and Annas and Thomas BETCHAM all but one cow to John BETCHAM my lawfull Sun, the cheers and dishes to be divided betwen Zabulan and Annas and Thomas BETCHAM and the creatures to be cept together as long as theay live togeather and live upon them and do disalow and disannull all and eveary othar form testiment wills leagases bequeths executers by me in any ways before mentched oned this and no othar to be my Last Will and Testament in witness whearof I set my hand and seel this the 20th 1792.
