Feb. 7, 1753 - April Court 1753

In the Name of God Amen.  I James BRENT being Very Sick and Week Butt Sound in memory thanks be to God for it.  Itom I make this my Last Will and tesement in the maner and form following making void and Disanuling all other will wills heare to fore by me made.

Itom I give to my Son Rihard [Richard] BRENT my Land and Planation Whear on I now Live to him and his hairs for Ever and two Cows & Cavlfs Sum of them being in his own mark.

Itom I give to my Son James BRENT my Land and Planation called tuckers Ridg to him and his hairs for Ever and two Cows and Cavles and one two year olde heifer in his mark.

Itom I give to my Daughter Ann BRENT two Cows and [smudge] yearling one Cow and yearlin in her own mark.

Itom I give to the Child my Wife is Bigg with all? two Cows and Cavles.

Itom I give to my Well be Loved Wife Kisiah BRENT all the rest of my whole Estate within and with outt to Pay my Debts and Rais my Children with all.

Itom I allso appoint my well be Loved wife Kisiah BRENT to be my whole Executrix to Discharg this my Last Will and tesement in witness whar of I have hiar on to Sett my hand and fixt my seale this Seventh Day of febuary 1753.

These may Certifie that Absolom LIGETT John SIMMONS and Henry SIMMONS JUN^r appeared in open Court and made oath that they were present and Saw James BRENT Sign Seal [cut off] and Declare the within to be and Contain his Last will and Testament and that the Said James was then and at that time of Sound and Disposeing memory.  Then also appeerd Kiziah BRENT his wife as his Executrix and took the Execators oath in Due form of Law.  Ordered that the Hon^ble James MURRAY Esq^r Secretary of the Said province Have Notice thereof that Letters Testamentory Issue thereon as the Law Directs.
