Currituck County }I Elizabeth BROCKETT of the county of Currituck State of North Carolina being in sound mind do make this my last will and testament in manner and form as follows, namely -
1st - I give and bequeath to my daughter Margarett FORBES forty dollars to her own proper use and benefit forever.
2nd - I give and bequeath too my daughter Nancy MORGAN forty dollars to her own proper use and benefit forever
3rd - I give and bequeath to my daughter Martha WILLIAMS one slave negro woman Hannah to have and to hold forever.
4th - I lend the use of slave negro man Ned to my grand daughter Arkann FORBES the daughter of William P. FORBES, dec'd., during her natural life at her death I give and bequeath to my son Gideon L. BROCKETT to the said negro man Ned to have and to hold forever.
5. I give and bequeath to my son Gideon L. BROCKETT the remainder of my estate as follows one negro woman Rose and her four children namely Dager? Bill Reuben and Joshua also the increase of negro woman Rose to have and to hold forever. I furthermore give to my son Gideon L. BROCKETT all my perishable estate consisting of household and kitchen furniture farming utensils stock &c. to his own proper use and benefit.
Also it is my will & desire that all my just and lawful debts shall be paid by my son Gideon L. BROCKETT whom I nominate and appoint my executor without bond or security, furthermore it is my will and desire for my son Gideon L. BROCKETT to manage the above negro man Ned for the proper use and benefit of my grand daughter Arkann FORBES during her natural life.
Lastly I declare this to be my last will and testament revoking all former wills made by me heretofore as witness to hereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 10th day of December 1853
