The Last Will and Tesatment of Edmund L. CHAPLIN dec'd Exhibited Feby term 1835 and proven by the oath of John A. SHAW and Jasper CHAPLIN witness thereto and ordered Recorded Oct. 24th day in the year of our Lord Eighteen hundred and thirty four.
In the name of God, Amen __ That I, Edmund L. CHAPLIN being weak in body, but of sound mind and memory do make this my last will and testament my spirit to God my body to the earth.
Item 1. I do give and bequeath to my brother William all of my part of the land which my father William CHAPLIN, SR. gave and bequeathed to me in his last will and testament.
Item 2. I give and bequeath to my two brothers Caleb and Jasper all remaining property both in door and out stock cattle horses sheep and hogs etc.
Item 3. I give and bequeath to Elizabeth CHAPLIN for the support of her children five bbls of corn to come out of the above _______ the day and date above written and I do appoint my dear brother Caleb T. CHAPLIN the person to arrange and settle all of my business signed and sealed ___the presence of us.
