Currituck County Wills
In the name of God, Amen. I Dolly COCHRAN of the County of Currituck and State of North Carolina, being sick and knowing the certainty of life and the certainty of death, do make this instrument of writing to be and contain my Last Will and Testament in manner and form following.
Item. Give and bequeath to my Daughter Affey ETHRIDGE two lots in the Alabama Territory, Clark County in the Town of Jackson, the lots are No. 110 & 111, on the north side of Franklin Street the above lots are now left in the care of Esqr. William L. PERRIS, I also give my Daughter Affey a note of hand of seventy five dollars upon a man by the name of L.B. CLARY, which note was also left in the care of William L. PERRIS, to her and her heirs forever.
Item. A due bill on Charles BELER for seventy bushels salt, which due bill also left in the care of Wm. L. PERRIS citizen of the Town of Jackson, when said due bill is collected to be equally divided between all my children and their heirs forever.
Item. All the rest of my property in Currituck, of every description I leave to be sold, and after paying all my just debts, to be equally divided between all my children, namely, Nancy CAMBPELL, Betsey MORRIS, John GRAY, Polly WILSON, Sally WILSON and Affey ETHRIDGE, to them and their heirs forever.
I also nominate, constitute and appoint my beloved Son John GRAY my whole and sole executor to this my Last Will and Testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal the 7th November one thousand eight hundred and nineteen.
